Head chef (chef de cuisine) on a river cruise ship sailing on the Rhine. Advert in French. Role: runs the galley and its team (second chef and/or one or two commis, plus a dishwasher), plans production and cleaning, controls dish quality, stock rotation and storage, and follows the onboard food safety plan. Also cooks lunch and dinner for the crew. Required: CAP or vocational baccalaureate in cooking; several solid jobs in restaurant, banquet or hotel kitchens with team management; enough English to work with an international crew. Offered: permanent annualised contract (CDI); from 3,120 EUR gross per month plus a 380 EUR gross season bonus and an embarkation bonus pro rata to time on board; about 46-48 hours a week with one day off a week on board; single cabin, meals and laundry on board; health insurance; work clothes provided after the trial period.
