2nd Mate - offshore drilling unit, Spain (Las Palmas)
An offshore drilling contractor is hiring a 2nd Mate for the marine department of an offshore drilling unit currently listed at Las Palmas, Spain. Role: assists the Chief Mate/Senior Mate with the rig's marine operations, safety of personnel, maintenance of rig equipment and protection of the environment; supervises the 3rd Mate, AB seamen, crane operators, deck pushers and paint crew; takes part in drills and emergency response. Required: valid unlimited 2nd Mate licences (home country and flag state), GMDSS licence, lifeboatman certificate, valid medical and vaccination certificates for the area, knowledge of the vessel's marine calculations, basic computer skills, completed formal education.
