Crewboard has a new section called Training and medical. It lists approved training centres, maritime universities and academies, and seafarer medical centres, country by country. The first countries are India, the Philippines and the United Kingdom.
Training and medical: only places on an official register
A place is listed only if it appears on an official register. This can be a maritime administration, a health ministry or a flag state. Each listing names the authority that approved it.
Each listing also links to that official list and shows the date Crewboard last checked it. So you can check the approval yourself. Every listing has a "Report a mistake" link.
You can filter training centres by city and by course. You can filter medical centres by city and by flag state.

Reminders on My CV
When you are signed in, your CV on Crewboard now helps you keep certificates valid. If a certificate or medical certificate has expired or expires soon, the CV shows a link. The link opens approved training or medical centres in your country.
Guides
Crewboard guides give practical answers on certificates, visas, pay and rights. They are updated when the rules change. One guide explains how to check that a crewing agency is licensed in the Philippines or India. Another explains how to renew a Philippine certificate of competency (COC).
Company names on external vacancies
Everyone can now see which company placed each external vacancy advert. You do not need to sign in for this. The company's contacts and website are still only for signed-in users. Signing up is free.
New Resources menu
The header now has a Resources menu. It contains News, Guides, Salaries, Training and medical, and Useful links.
Editorial policy
A new editorial policy page explains how Crewboard chooses, sources and corrects its articles. It also says how to report a mistake in an article.
What it means for crews
Before you pay for a course or a medical, check that the training centre or clinic is approved. Use the official list linked on each listing.
Approvals can change. Check the official list again shortly before you book.
Keep your certificates and medical certificate current. Keep your CV up to date, so the reminders can help you.
Never pay for a job. A real employer does not ask you for money to hire you.
